Chassis:
Earmarked for Italy's Scuderia Sant'Ambroeus, this 250 LM was completed and delivered in April of 1965. It was immediately raced at Monza where it placed 10th before it was updated by Drogo with the more efficient 'long nose'. In this guise Oddone Sigala and Luigi Taramazzo drove it to a class victory in the Targa Florio in May. It was retired from contemporary racing just a few months later and eventually ended up in the United States. In 1973 it was badly damaged in a road accident. The remains were acquired by NART mechanic Wayne Sparling, who completely restored the car. He finally sold it to England-based collector Harry Leventis in 2000. The current owner bought the car at RM Auctions' 2008 Automobiles of London sale where it changed hands for just over GBP 2.2 million.
