Chassis:
Sold to the North American Racing Team (NART) run by Ferrari's representative in New York Luigi Chinetti. NART entered 5893 for Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt in the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans. Outlasting the intrinsically quicker Ferrari and Ford prototypes, the NART 250 LM won the race, scoring what would turn out to be the last outright victory for Ferrari at Le Mans. NART continued to race the car in endurance events but with little success. In 1970, it was acquired by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum where it has been on display ever since. To mark the 50th anniversary of the car's and Ferrari's very last Le Mans win, it was brought out for the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Along with a selection of the Indy museum collection, it was consigned to RM Sotheby’s. Offered at the 2025 edition of the annual Paris sale, it found a new owner for close to €35 million.
