No period history of this particular Alfa Romeo 33/TT/12 is known. It first re-surfaced in the 1990s when it was owned by Leif Nilsson. Through former Alfa Romeo works driver Toine Hezemans, it was sold to the next, Japanese owner, who claimed it had been extensively used in period. Many years later, he had the car consigned to the RM Auctions London Sale in September of 2013. At that time, it featured a replacement engine, although an original flat 12 also accompanied the car as were spare body sections. It eventually found a home for a relatively modest GBP 336,000.
