Chassis:
The fifth and final Chaparral Mk 1 chassis was only partly assembled and not sold until 1963. It finally found its first owner in British hill-climber Phil Scragg, who campaigned the car at Prescott and Shelsey Walsh. It was then acquired by Howard Parkin, who converted it to four-wheel drive and continued to race it in sprints and grass track events as the 'Cannonball Special'. In 1974 the car was bought by Chaparral enthusiast and author Richard Falconer. He restored the car to its original configuration and also constructed a correct body. Over the years, it has only been raced in select historic events but with considerable success.
