Chassis:
Built in 1977, this is one of a pair of DeKon Monzas campaigned by owner Chris Cord and Jim Adams. Before it was raced for the first time, it was completely rebuilt to an even higher standard by Cord's chief engineer Doane Spencer. Cord and Adams raced the car for many years under the Chris Cord Racing banner but ultimately could do no better than a fourth and a couple of fifth place finishes. Chassis 1011 was finally retired from contemporary racing after the 1981 season. Boasting the final DeKon Monza specification, it is today regularly raced in historic events where it is often a match for later and intrinsically quicker machinery like Porsche 935s.
