Chassis:
This McLaren M1A was sold to American racer Augie Pabst, who took delivery of the car in the summer of 1965. He fielded the car in the popular USRRC series, where he immediately was among the top runners, beaten only by the two mid-engined Chaparrals. Sadly, Pabst's tenure with chassis 20-05 lasted just three races as it was burned to the ground at Mosport. The remains were acquired by local trader Bill Schley, who quickly determined the car to be beyond repair. He did hold onto everything and eventually sold it to British enthusiast John Bladon in the early 2000s. A past owner of multiple McLaren M1s, Bladon had the car rebuilt around a new frame and the few parts that were salvageable.
