Chassis:
The fourth of five Delage D6 competition cars built in 1946, this chassis was raced extensively by the works team. In 1947, it finished second at Perpignan and placed sixth in the Italian Grand Prix. During the 1948 season, chassis 880004 was driven to several second place finishes but a victory again eluded the car. The following year, it was raced in the first post-War Le Mans by Henri Louveau and Juan Jover, who finished an impressive second. It was back at Le Mans in 1950, where it placed 7th. This was the final outing for a Delage at Le Mans. After its lengthy racing career it was equipped with a Pichon & Parat body. In more recent years it was acquired by noted collector Peter Mullin, who had it restored to its original guise. It has since been shown at concours d'elegance at both sides of the Atlantic and also competed in the Monterey Historic Races. Today, it is on display in the fabulous Mullin Automotive Museum.
