The first of four Lotus Type 64s built, this chassis was finally freed from its hiding place in recent years. Now part of the formidable Lotus collection of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, it was subjected to a thorough restoration by Clive Chapman's Classic Team Lotus. They sourced a correct Ford V8 engine and brought the ill-fated Indy racer back to life. Painted in Andretti's colour scheme with white wings, the fully restored Lotus 64 was entered in the 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed. There it drove again for the first time in nearly forty years.
