Delivered new to Joest Racing, this was one of the first customer Porsche 956s produced. Liveried in the ever striking Newman colours, it was first raced by Joest early in 1983. Its lengthy career spanned over four seasons and also included numerous outings under the Kremer Racing banner. During this period, it scored two victories in minor events in the hands of Klaus Ludwig and Walter Lechner. Following two years in storage, it was restored by Joest to its original Newman livery in 1989. It was then sold to Jamey Mazzotta and in 2001, it was acquired by the current owner.
