Chassis:
This Delahaye 135 S was ordered new by amateur racer Henri Toulouse, who raced under the pseudonym 'Michel Paris'. It was entered in the 1936 24 Hours of Le Mans, which was sadly cancelled. Toulouse did manage to win the Grand Prix de Marseille before suffering a career-ending accident in the Marne Grand Prix. Repaired, the car continued to be raced and sadly suffered several more accidents. In 1938, it was acquired by Australian John Snow, who had it repaired after yet another crash. He raced it at Brooklands and also entered it at Le Mans but with little success. It was shipped to Snow's native Austalia and raced by subsequent owners with considerable success until the early 1950s. In 1968, it was discovered in derelict condition by British collector Ian Polson, who would go on to completely restore it. In more recent years it joined Peter Mullin's collection.
