Chassis:
One of the first Lotus 47s built, this is understood to be one of the examples fielded by Lotus Components. As parts of its works development program, it was fitted with big ram air-intakes on the engine cover, which earned it the nickname 'snorkel car'. In this guise, it was driven to class victory in the 1967 Brands Hatch 6 Hours by John Miles and Jackie Oliver. The 47 GT was later sold to John Calvert, who crashed the car heavily, requiring a replacement chassis. In more recent years, the car was retrieved from a scrapyard and beautifully restored by Kelvedon Lotus.
