Chassis:
Completed in the summer of 1939, this is believed to be one of the very last pre-War Aston Martins built. It combines the shorter of the 2-Litre chassis with a 2/4 Seater body created by Abbey Coachworks. Around 50 of these were constructed between 1937 and 1939. Although its earliest history is not known, the car was extensively used in the 1950s before being stored for over three decades. It was eventually sold to a Californian collector through Aston Martin specialist Ecurie Bertelli in 1995. The car has since been completely restored by Kevin Kay Restorations and between 2011 and 2013, it was regularly shown at major events. In March of 2014, it was sold by RM Auctions at Amelia Island for over $600,000, which far exceeded the top estimate.
