Chassis:
One of just 21 pre-production or Vorserie 959s built in 1985, this car served as a factory demonstrator until 1989. With 50,000 km on the odometer, it was then rebuilt to Comfort specification and sold to a German customer. He used the car only sparingly, adding 9,000 km to its tally until selling it to a Swiss enthusiast in 2010. It was subsequently imported to the United States and offered at RM Auctions' 2014 Amelia Island sale. Here it found a new owner for an impressive $687,500.
