Chassis:
Originally destined for identity 0362AM, this chassis was re-stamped 0374AM to expedite the delivery to the new owner, who had already cleared this identity with the Argentinian customs. This first owner was Enrique Diaz Saenz Valiente, who fielded it in the 1954 Buenos Aires 1000 km in the national racing colours of blue with a yellow stripe. Sadly, the car rolled and was returned to factory for repairs. It re-emerged red with a black engine cover and in this guise, it was raced very successfully in Argentina by Valiente. In new ownership, it continued to be successfully raced until the summer of 1957. It was subsequently fitted with a Ford V8 and then disappeared from the radar until it was discovered in Uruguay during the 1980s. It was completely restored in Italy using an engine from a sister car. During the next two decades, chassis 0374AM passed through the hands of many notable collectors including Yoshiho Matsudo, Giorgio Perfetti and John McCaw.
