Chassis:
To extend the lifespan of the ageing J chassis, Duesenberg created the JN in collaboration with trusted coach-builder Rollston. Mechanically identical to the earlier cars, the JN came with the option of three standard body styles. These featured more aerodynamic lines, a cowled radiator and slightly smaller wheels. The most exciting of the three designs was the Convertible Coupe. Fitted with a supercharged engine, the example pictured here is the first of four examples produced.
One of the final Duesenbergs built, it eventually joined the Nethercutt Collection. After being shown with a black finish for some years, it was completely restored and repainted silver with a blue stripe. Chassis 2561 J-533 made its post-restoration debut at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it finished second in the Duesenberg class. In 2013 the SJN Rollston Convertible Coupe was awarded 'Best of Show' at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
