Chassis:
Displayed at the Berlin Motor Show in February of 1937, this Spezial Roadster was bought new by Jack Warner of Warner Brothers Studios fame. Before being shipped to New York, it was specifically prepared for Warner with a mph speedometer and 'Made in Germany' badges. Warner sold the car to noted collector Sam Scherr after about ten years of ownership. In 1949, it passed into the hands George Bitgood, who retained the car for over 35 years. After being stored in a garage for over three decades, it was discovered with just 11,000 miles on the odometer. During the early 1990s, it was lovingly restored by Paul Russell and it has since won numerous awards, including the Mercedes-Benz class at Pebble Beach twice.
