Chassis:
Sold new to German industrialist Alfried Krupp von Bohlen unda Halbach, this was one of the very last 540 Ks built before the War. It is one of five built on a slightly shorter wheelbase chassis and is also equipped with a five-speed gearbox that was added to the 540 K model towards the end of the production run. After the War, it was sold to the United States like so many luxury cars of the day. During the 1980s, the one-off Spezial Roadster was comprehensively restored and it has more recently returned to German ownership.
