Chassis:
This single louvre and covered headlight 250 GT Tour de France was delivered to its first, Italian owner in May of 1958. The car was extensively raced in minor events during the late 1950s and also in the 1958 Targa Florio. In 1966, it was sold to prominent American collector Fred Peters. He campaigned the car in a wide variety of events including the Mille Miglia retrospective and the Monterey Historic Races. Apart from a respray in 1970s, the car was virtually untouched, until it was submitted to a ground-up restoration in 2014 to its original configuration and colours. The work was supervised by Brooke Betz, who had been a longtime friend and partner in Peters' car collecting adventures. Chassis 0905GT was ready in time for the 2016 Cavallino Classic. In August of 2017, the rare Ferrari won 'Best of Show' in the Carmel Concours on the Avenue. Peters passed away early in 2018, and from his estate the car was consigned to the Gooding Pebble Beach Auctions.
