Chassis:
Completed in May 1958, this single louvre 250 GT Tour de France was sold new to Steve Earle. It was finished in dark blue with a red interior. Chassis 0897GT was not raced in period and eventually received a Chevrolet V8 while the V12 was sold off. Fitted with a replacement V12, it subsequently passed through various hands and was not re-united with the original V12 until in the ownership of Engelbert Stieger. He has since sold the car to a German enthusiast, who has regularly campaigned the car in historic during the last two decades.
