Chassis:
The first of three XJR-9s, this chassis was originally built to IMSA GTP specification. It finished third behind its two sister cars in the season opening Daytona 24 Hours race. Later in the season, the car returned to Europe and served as one of the five Jaguar Le Mans entries. After starting ninth, it eventually crossed the line in sixteenth position. The car's sole victory came during the IMSA GTP round at Del Mar in the fall of 1988. Chassis 188 served into the 1989 season until a heavy crash ended its career. It has subsequently been returned to full running order by TWR and eventually sold to JD Classics. Exactly 20 years after its first appearance and wearing the correct livery, it returned to Le Mans for the 2008 Legend race in the build up to the 24 Hours. In more recent years, the car changed hands again and returned to historic racing in 2019.
