The very young and equally talented Mexicans won the race outright. Throughout the 1962 season, it was campaigned in the United States by Doug Thiem, finishing on the podium many times and winning at Elkhart Lake. It subsequently passed through various American hands until it was acquired by an Italian enthusiast in 1980. He retained the highly original SEFAC Hot Rod until 2011, regularly fielding it in historic. The current, Swiss owner had the car repainted to its original metallic grey.
