Chassis:
The first of two 911 GT1 '98s entrusted to the Zakspeed team for the 1998 season, this chassis was raced in a green and red 'Jever' livery by Michael Bartels and Armin Hahne. They campaigned the car in the highly competitive FIA GT Championship, where the rules did not favour the Porsche's turbocharged engine. The best results for this car were a third at Silverstone and a fourth at the A1-Ring where Bartels was joined by Max Angelelli. At the end of the year, the car was returned to Porsche and restored to the Le Mans winning works livery. In 2016, it re-appeared in the striking Zakspeed colours and demonstrated by Porsche at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
