Following its one race outing, at Spa-Francorchamps, the Mantis XP was hastily shipped out of England to the United States where it eventually ended up in the more than caring hands of the Morris family from Los Angeles. They extensively used the car on the road for many years until the car was really starting to show its age. What started as a fettle with the brakes, eventually ended up to be a ground up restoration, which was completed in 2009. Sporting the #8 used at Spa-Francorchamps, it was immediately shipped back to England for Marcos' 50th anniversary celebrations. It was later also demonstrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed before returning 'home'.
