Chassis:
The first of the three Morgan Plus 4 SLRs built, this one was delivered new to Gordon Spice, who would many years later construct and race cars under his own name. Sadly, he crashed the car just three laps into its racing debut at Goodwood. It was returned to LawrenceTune for a thorough rebuild, which was only completed after the other two sister cars had been built. Once repaired, chassis SLR2 was raced for several seasons before it was sold to the United States. It was eventually acquired by California Morgan dealer Bill Fink, who would go on to race the car for three decades. In more recent years, it was repatriated to the United Kingdom where it was completely restored.
