Chassis:
This is the original Maki F101, constructed in Japan in late 1973 and early 1974. It is doubtful wether it was ever used in period but as a result it does still wear the original jet-fighter inspired bodywork complete with the canopy and the tail light integrated in the sizeable air box. In more recent years, it has been restored to full running order in Japan with the help of high school students. Almost exactly forty years to day that the Maki was first tested, chassis 00 made its first foreign voyage to attend the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Here it was reunited with the original Maki works driver Howden Ganley.
