Chassis:
The first of four Type 48s constructed, this car was debuted by Graham Hill early in the 1967 season for Team Lotus. Later in the year, it was assigned to Jim Clark, who used it to win at Madrid and Helsinki. The following season Jackie Oliver raced 48/1 with limited success. In 1969, it was campaigned by Gerry Kinnane's Team Ireland for the likes of John Watson and John Pollock. A very rare survivor, the very first Type 48 was completely restored to full running order by Simon Hadfield during the late 1990s. It has since been used only very rarely but did make an appearance during the 2013 Goodwood Revival for a Jim Clark tribute.
