Chassis:
Switching from his original chassis A3-1, Riccardo Patrese campaigned chassis A3-3 from the third round of the 1980 Formula 1 World Championship. He used it to score a second in the US Grand Prix West at Long Beach and during the 1981 season also finished second at Imola with the third A3 now finished in the orange and white colours of Ceramiche Ragno and Utilli Beta. Following its contemporary racing career, this, the most successful of all A3 chassis was retained by the Arrows factory for display purposes. It was later acquired by one of Arrows' founders Jackie Oliver and then passed through various hands before being acquired by the current owner in 2012. He had the car prepared for historic racing and it returned to the track for the first time in three decades.
