Chassis:
Acquired new by Crowne Racing of future Lola owner Martin Birrane, chassis HU55 was raced by Chris Craft in the 1973 European 2 Litre Championship. He scored victories at Misano, Imola, Enna and Barcelona on his way to winning the European Championship. Sold to the Pederzani brothers at the start of the 1974 season, HU55 was fitted with a Tecno flat-eight engine. It was raced at least once in this guise by Jean Pierre Jassaud, who started 3rd in the Misano round but ultimately retired with engine issues. Remaining in Italy, it was later raced in hill-climbs fitted with a 1.6-litre engine. Following an accident, it was eventually retired from contemporary events. During the 1990s, it was finally repaired and restored to its original configuration by then owner Pietro Silva. It has since returned to the United Kingdom.
