Chassis:
The fourth and final JS11 produced, this example was first raced at the British Grand Prix in the summer of 1979. Piloted exclusively by Jacques Laffite that year, it finished third in three of the four races it was used in 1979. Uprated to JS11/15 specification, it was then allocated to Didier Pironi for much of the 1980 season. He finished on the podium four times, placing third twice, scoring a second at the team's home Grand Prix at Magny Cours and winning the Belgian Grand Prix at Zolder. Following its retirement from active duty, this car was displayed for many years in the Musée Ligier before being restored to full running order. In recent years, it has been acquired by a French enthusiast and historic racer, whose impressive collection includes several other Ligier competition cars.
