For many years, this Simca Abarth was one of the star exhibits at the late Fabrizio Violati's Maranello Rosso Museum in San Marino. It is believed to have been first road registered in April of 1965. Documentation with the car suggests it many have been raced to GT class wins at the Vienna Grand Prix and Innsbruck by none other than Jochen Rindt. Violati eventually acquired the car in 1977 for Lire 300,000. Shortly after the car emerged from the museum, it was offered at the 2014 Bonhams Goodwood Revival Sale along with nine other Abarths from the collection. Although requiring considerable work to get it back on the road, it sold for close tot GBP 220,000.
