Chassis:
For show car duties, Siata built four slightly longer 208 BS chassis, one of which is chassis CS057L. Commissioned by Stanley Harold 'Wacky' Arnolt, it was equipped by Bertone with a 2+2 coupe body. Its design was not unlike the Arnolt-MGs; the first cooperation between the American entrepreneur and Italian coachbuilder. The unique car was first shown in Paris in the fall of 1952 and then in New York in the spring of 1953.
Arnolt sold the car that same year to a Stuart Sherman, who held on to the car for barely two years. The car was subsequently stored for over three decades by its new owner. It has since been completely restored and after touring the American concours circuit it ended up in the hands of a Dutch Collector. Bonhams offered the Bertone bodied Siata at the 2007 Gstaad auction but offers failed to meet the reserve set.
