Chassis:
The earliest of the four 512 BB Competiziones produced, this example was prepared by Belgian importer Jacques Swaters for Jean Blaton, who raced under the pseudonym 'Beurlys'. He was joined at Le Mans by his compatriot Teddy Pilette and Frenchman Raymond Touroul. They qualified the Belgian yellow liveried 512 BB Competizione 42nd but retired after just 39 laps due to a gearbox failure. Not raced again, the car was retained by Blaton for several years. It has since changed hands and in recent years has been in the hands of two subsequent Germans, who campaigned chassis 22715 at several editions of the Le Mans Classic.
