Chassis:
Acquired new by Randy Blessing, this GT350 R was originally raced with limited success. Blessing then entrusted the car to local privateer racer and actual rocket scientist Walt Hane after he had proven 5 seconds faster at a local airport circuit than Blessings original driver. It was the start of a successful partnership, which saw Hane win the SCCA B Production national championship in 1966. At the end of its contemporary racing career chassis 5R103 had scored more class and outright wins than any other GT350 R. The rare Shelby Mustang has since been restored for vintage racing.
