Chassis:
One of the two new M29s constructed ahead of the 1980 season, this car was first raced by John Watson at the Argentinean Grand Prix. Later in the season, it was entrusted to Alain Prost, who scored just a single point with this chassis, at the British Grand Prix. Not used in the second half of the 1980 season, chassis M29-4 was dusted off for the 1981 season. In the hands of Andrea de Cesaris, it was driven to a sixth at the San Marino Grand Prix. Sold to Arnold Glass, it was briefly raced in the 1982 British F1 Championship with a fourth as the best result. This M29 was later brought to the United States, where it was raced in historic events.
