Chassis: 51140
Sold new to the United Kingdom, this Type 51 was extensively raced in period by Richard Shuttleworth on the British Isles. Towards the end of the 1930s, it was sold to A. Clarence Whincop, who continued to race it for many more years. It has since remained in England and among the subsequent owners were John Goddard and Tom Wheatcroft, who displayed chassis 51140 in his Donington Grand Prix Collection for many years. At a rare outing, it was brought out for the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
