Sold new to Dan Gurney's All American Racers through Carl Haas, this car was originally fitted with a Ford small-block V8. Run by AAR, it was raced with very little success by Swede Savage and later Dan Gurney in the 1968 Can-Am. Sent back to Haas, it was then sold to Jerry Hansen and fitted with a more competitive Chevrolet big block. In this guise, it was crashed by Fred Baker. He reportedly retained the wreck until the late 1990s, when it was acquired by Herb Holtzmann. The car was restored around a new tub to T163 specification. It was then acquired by the current owner in 2008, who returned it to AAR guise while retaining the Chevrolet V8.
