Chassis:
This V12 Rapide was ordered new by British dancer and striptease artist Phyllis Dixey just before the War, when she was just 26 years old. She became very famous during the War for her shows for the service men. Reportedly, she bought the Lagonda because she wanted a car that made the same impact she did. Like so many luxury cars of the day, it eventually made its way across the Atlantic where subsequent owners included Roy Dunlap and George Chilberg. Still very original but in rather poor condition, the car was submitted to a complete restoration at the hands of marque expert Peter Wenman during the 1990s. By that time, the car had returned to Europe where it remains today. It has made rare appearance on the Techno Classica and Retromobile stands of Swiss broker Lukas Héni.
