Chassis:
One of the very first Lola T296s produced, this example was sold through Swiss agent Heini Mader to the G.V.E.A. (Groupement Vaudois des Ecuries Automobiles) team.. Fitted with a Cosworth BDG engine, the car was extensively campaigned in Europe for several seasons. Among the outings were three Le Mans entries, in 1977, 1978 and 1979. Sadly, mechanical issues caused retirements at each occasion. Later in its life, it was sold to the United States. It returned to Europe in 2009, when it was acquired by the current owner. He had the car restored to its 1979 Le Mans configuration.
