Chassis:
Completed early in 1968, chassis SL73/130 was one of a pair of T70s sold to Japan along with SL73/116. It was first raced in May of 1968 and continued to be campaigned in local events for the remainder of the year. Ahead of the 1969 season, chassis SL73/130 was fitted with a Spyder body built in Japan. In this guise, it was crashed heavily. The damaged remains were sold through American Lola agent Carl Haas to Corvette Works in the summer of 1971. Untouched, chassis 130 was then bought by Mac McClendon late in 1978. He set about restoring the car to Spyder specification for a client, who intended to use the car on the road and did not like the prospect of a hot cockpit. During the 2000s, the car changed hands several times and was eventually acquired by the current owner in 2008. He had the car completely restored to its original Coupe configuration by marque expert Clive Robinson.
