Chassis:
After the rush delivery of his original Knobbly to Briggs Cunningham in the United States, David Murray was then supplied with the fourth car, in kit form, for his Ecurie Ecosse team. Once assembled, it was raced with great verve by Masten Gregory. Unfortunately, he crashed the car at Silverstone in 1958. Upon return to the Ecurie Ecosse workshop, some of the salvageable parts were used to convert the unique Lister single seater (BHL 109) back into a sports car. After the single seater was restored to its original configuration, the original frame of BHL 104 was used by Pearson Engineering to restore the car to its 1958 configuration. The car was sold to New Zeeland, where the chassis was damaged in a fire but not substantially. Among its subsequent owners was noted collector Aba Kogan and in more recent years it was acquired by a Canadian enthusiast, who has regularly fielded the car in historic events.
