Chassis:
The second of two Ensign N179s built in 1979, this car was never actually raced in period. It served as the team's spare car throughout the season but was ultimately not pressed into service. When Mo Nunn sold the assets of his team at the start of 1982, this unused car was acquired by Bobby Howlings. After it passed through several more hands, it was prepared for Formula Libre racing by Roger Crowman for Norman Paine. He raced the car in select events during the 1985 season before bringing the car with him to the United States. In 1991, it was acquired by the current owner, who has used it in historic events ever since.
