Chassis:
Completed in the summer of 1960, this Tipo 61 Birdcage was sold new to J. Frank Harrison in the United States. It was raced for him in the fall races by Jim Jeffords, Jim Hall and Carroll Shelby with limited success. The car's career came to an abrupt end when Jeffords was t-boned during the Bahama speed week. Chassis 2467 was nevertheless repaired and later re-appeared with a Ford V8 engine. It was then acquired by Anthony Bamford, who had it restored with the engine from chassis 2462. During the 1980s, it was sold to Germany, where it was raced extensively in historic events. The current custodian bought the Tipo 61 at auction in 1996. Although originally finished red, it is today painted a striking yellow.
