Chassis:
Built by Park Ward as a show car for the 1938 London Motor Show at Earls Court, this Derby Bentley was one of the very few 4¼ Litre cars fitted with a true two-seater body. This is what earned the car the nick-name 'The Honeymoon Express.' It was built to the highest standards and featured re-arranged dashboard, 17-inch wheels and an overdrive gearbox. The chairman of Park Ward like the car so much that he kept for its personal use and during the War it was also used by Rolls-Royce dealer R.A. Robertson, who had it painted in camouflage colours. During the 1960s, it was acquired by Maurice Richmond, who, later in the decade, brought it with him to California. Four decades later, it was repatriated to Great Britain and submitted to a no-expense-spared restoration. Shown only twice, it has now been consigned to RM Auctions' 2015 Paris sale.
