Chassis:
Bought by French enthusiast Charles Perraud, this the third of five Franay bodied R-Type Continentals. The car was delivered to Franay as a rolling chassis complete with lightweight seats and bumpers supplied by H.J. Mulliner. Franay fitted a unique Sports Saloon body that held the middle between the famous Fastback design of the Mulliner R-Type Continentals and the Notchback Coupe body fitted by the French coach-builder to the type's very last chassis. Following its spell in French ownership, the unique Bentley was sold to the United Kingdom in 1965, where it has remained ever since. During the second half of the 1990s, one of the subsequent owners had it completely restored over a three-year period. It has since been regularly used including during a Bentley Drivers Club tour of India.
