Prepared specifically for the 1953 24 Hours of Le Mans, this Coupe was the first of its type to hit the track. It debuted at Silverstone in April of 1953 where Ken Wharton placed 17th overall. Joined by Lawrence Mitchell, Wharton raced the factory entered car to 13th overall at Le Mans and first in class. The following year, Maurice Gatsonides and Marcel Becquart finished an equally impressive 11th overall. Meticulously restored, the Le Mans class winning Coupe is today raced at select historic events.
