Completed in April of 1955, this Le Mans Coupe was ordered new by Kathleen 'Kitty' Maurice, who was a landowner and also a promoter of the Castle Combe circuit. The car was brought to Le Mans where it served as a back-up vehicle but was not raced. A subsequent owner did campaign the car at Le Mans, in 1959, and it was also raced at Silverstone and Goodwood in 1960. In the following decades, it changed hands and continents many times but each owner cherished the car, carried out the necessary maintenance and repairs regardless of the expense. Today, it once again boasts its original 'XMC 1' registration.
