Chassis:
This is one of the three Tourist Trophy Sunbeams sold to customers in the 1920s. At that point it was stamped with number 2 but it can not directly be linked to any specific car that raced in the 1914 season. It was acquired by a farmer from New Zealand, who used to break the Australasian 5 mile record at 100.27 mph. In later years the chassis of the car was brutally cut up to make fencing posts. Fortunately the car was eventually rescued.
Today the car is part of an English collection. Beautifully restored, it is seen here in action during the 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
