Chassis:
Completed early in 1973, this chassis was sold new to American Dave Helmick. Immediately after taking delivery, he entered the car in the Sebring 12 Hours. As it turned out the Brumos Racing team had no car available to run and they offered to run the car for Helmick if he shared the driving duties with Hurley Haywood and Peter Gregg. After starting fourth, they would go on to win the race outright. The car was raced well into the 1974 season but it would score no more victories. It has since remained in the United States for most of its life until it was sold to a British enthusiast some years ago. At the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was reunited with Hurley Haywood as part of Porsche's 70th anniversary celebrations.
