Chassis:
Using a short chassis 8C 2300 chassis, this example was clothed with a particularly attractive Spider body by Zagato, instantly recognisable by the flowing shape of the running boards. It is believed to have remained in Italy early in its life before it was imported into the United States by Frank Griswold. He raced the car in local events before selling it in on. By the early 1950s, it joined the collection of Haig Ksayian, who also owned a second 8C 2300. Ksayian used the engine from the sister car to power 2211052 after its original engine had failed. He would go on to own the car for many decades before it passed into the collection of the current American custodian, who is a great Zagato enthusiast. He had the original engine rebuilt and it has since been shown at select events around the world. In 2015, it was awarded best of show by the jury in the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
