Chassis:
One of the 1931 works cars, this 8C 2300 Monza was sold at the end of the season to Paul Emil Hofman of Milan, Italy. He entered the car for Czech-born Charley Jellen in a variety of events during the 1933 season. In 1934, a subsequent owner fielded the ex-works Monza in the Klausen pass hill-climb. It has since had a succession of Italian owners, before it was acquired by French collector André Binda. He sold the car back to Italy where it was owned by the Artom family for many years. Following a lengthy spell in Germany, it is today part of a Swiss collection. It is understood to be one of the most original surviving Monzas, retaining many of the components only found on 1931 vintage cars. In 2009 and 2010, it was meticulously restored by British marque expert Neil Twyman.
